dc.description.abstract | A new transition from suspended stripline (SSL) to nonradiative dielectric (NRD) guide at the Ka-band is reported. The transition uses a stepped-impedance probe in close proximity to the NRD guide strip. The performance of the transition as a function of various struc tural parameters is studied in detail. Extensive simulations and experiments are carried out to optimize the performance of the transition. The fabricated back-to-back transition with 69 mm of NRD guide in between shows an insertion loss of <1.2 dB over the 2-GHz bandwith. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. | - |
