Title: Design & implementation of transformer-less multi output DC power supply

Abstract: Electronic circuits often require power supply which can furnish more than one regulated output with different voltage and current specifications. Traditionally, these power supplies are accomplished by Multi-winding High frequency Power transformer with each output regulated through individual control and hence, uneconomical. Transformer-less DC-DC power converter based on buck topology is described in this paper which provides three independently controlled output voltages of different voltage and current rating, from a two power handling power switches and a single dc source voltage. The converter can operate with high efficiency and circuit complexity, cost, size and weight are significantly reduced as compared to conventional solutions. The proposed DC power supply is an attractive choice in applications which require low conversion ratio, non-isolation, good regulation against load and line disturbances, and fast dynamic response. A prototype model of dc-dc converter which provides three regulated dc outputs- 5V/10A, 15V/5A and 12V/20A DC is developed in laboratory for experimentation.
