Title: Organotin(iv) complexes of bi- and tridentate schiff bases having ns and ons donor systems

Abstract: The complexes of the types, R3Sn(ONS) [where, R = CH3or C0H5; ONS = monofunctional tridentate ligands, such as N-methyl-S-benzyl- β -N(o-hydroxyphenylethylidene) dithiocarbazate, N-methyl-S-benzyl-β-N-(o-hydroxyphenyl)methylendithiocarbazate and N-methyl-S-benzyl-β-N(o-hydroxynaphthyl) methylendithiocarbazate]and RnSn Cl4-n.L [where, n = 2, R = C6H5; n = 3, R = CH3or C6H5and L =neutral bidentate ligands such as N-methyl-S-benzyl-β- N-(2-furanyl-2-methoxyphenyl-, 4-methoxyphenyl-and benzoylphenyl-) methylendithiocarbazates] have been prepared and characterised. The IR and 1H—NMR studies suggested a distorted octahedral geometry for all these complexes. © 1991, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.
