Abstract: The present study emphasizes the need of landslide risk assessment, computing vulnerability of property and humans to landslide, management strategies and decision-making at prior to the event of a landslide. Once it is accomplished, then only corrective measures like restriction of development in landslide prone areas, barring modification in geometry of the slope, establishing an early warning system will help in landslide mitigation.
