Abstract: Bearings are the most critical components in the industry application which provides the relative motion among various components. The signal acquired from the system mostly contains the heavy background noise along with the physical information of the system. Therefore, a robust technique is required for collecting the physical information that contains the low signal-to-noise ratio with lesser computational effort. Wavelets are localized in both time and frequency domain, which helps in providing the important frequency information in the signal along with the duration of the frequency. This paper is focused on the detection of various surface faults present in roller bearings, using Symlet-5 mother wavelet. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
