Title: Blends of polychloroprene and ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer miscibility studies

Abstract: Miscibility of polychloroprene (CR) and ethylene vinyl acetate (EV Ac) copolymer have been studied. The Dynamic Mechanical Analysis and Differential Scanning Calorimetry studies show single glass transition temperature of all blends that followed the Fox equation. The fractured specimens under scanning electron microscope showed the two polymers well-dispersed into each other. The studies demonstrated that CR and EV Ac are miscible at all compositions. This was further confirmed by the lowering of crystallinity and crystalline melting temperature of thermoplastic EV Ac-copolymer as the amount of CR was increased in the blends.
