Abstract: In this paper we study linear codes over the ring R = ℤ4 + vℤ4, where v2 = v. Using a Gray map on R we obtain the MacWilliams identities for both Lee and Gray weight enumerators for codes over R. We also briefly discuss self-dual codes over R. We give some construction methods of self-dual and self-orthogonal codes, and illustrate them with some examples. © 2014 IEEE.
