Title: Multi-trench channel waveguide for large-mode-area single-mode operation

Abstract: We present a multi-layer channel waveguide design that supports a single-guided mode with large-mode area. Geometrically shaped waveguide with suitable design parameters ensure effective single-mode operation with mode area as large as 100 μm2. © 2012 OSA.
