Title: Analysis of a holey optical fiber with circularly distributed holes

Abstract: With the help of the radial effective-index method, we analyze a holey fiber that has circularly distributed holes instead of conventional hexagonally arranged holes. The extended single-mode operation of the fiber is established by the calculation of the leakage losses of the first two modes. © 2003 IEEE.
