dc.description.abstract | Climate change, along with the rapid urbanization process in major cities of the world have resulted in several extreme events in the past two decades. Urban floods have become one of the major challenges in the urbanization process. This article aims to present a comprehensive review of different modeling approaches used for urban flood studies. Also, important issues pertaining to these approaches are discussed so that the researcher and policymaker can understand the importance of individual methodology and its use in flood studies. A new approach has also been suggested to select a representative framework under different scenarios of city stormwater management systems with incorporation of climate change. As rainfall variability becomes more frequent and extreme events more severe, there is an urgent need for cities to rapidly transform stormwater drainage and interdependent systems, and the knowledge systems that guide their infrastructure decisions and policy. © 2020 American Society of Civil Engineers. | - |
