Title: A new Three Phase 5L-UIPFC for wind energy applications

Abstract: In this paper, a new multi-point clamped (MPC) structured, three phase five level uni-directional improved power factor converter (TP5L-UIPFC) for wind energy integration application is proposed. The converter can be modeled as classical MPC structured converters like diode clamped converter with reduced device count due to the omission of clamping diodes. The validation of a new TP5L-UIPFC with carrier based PWM controlling scheme is verified with simulation and a down scaled prototype experimental setup. © 2018 IEEE.
