Title: A Fuzzy based Novel Pitch Angle Control Strategy for Wind Energy System

Abstract: In the recent years, wind energy system (WES) has getting more importance as clean energy, resourceful and inherent characteristic of reproducible. The concerns with WES are power quality and transient stability subjected to variable wind speed and network faults, respectively. This paper proposed an effective pitch angle controller, which can deliver the conditioned output power in windy condition and increase the transient stability capability in grid faults. A fuzzy logic method has employed to design the proposed control strategy, since it has been found to be an excellent choice for many control applications. Two cases has been considered (windy and short circuit fault) to show the effectiveness of the proposed controller. The results were obtained with fuzzy based pitch angle controller has compared with conventional PI pitch angle controller to show its applicability. © 2017 IEEE.
