Title: A state of art review of microgrid control and integration aspects

Abstract: The microgrid concept was primarily framed in technical literature as an explanation for suitable integration of distributed energy resources (DERs), which also includes controllable loads and energy storage systems. A Microgrid (MG) can be defined as a local or a small scale energy grid with control capabilities within. An MG can be connected or disconnected from the traditional grid as per requirement and can operate autonomously (Islanded mode). As most microsources (MS) (sources associated with MG) are of relatively low power capacity, hence; low-voltage (LV) MG has attracted the attention of many investigators. A number of technologies have been used by DERs which facilitate generation in small scale (MS) and the renewable energy resources (RES) such as solar, wind or hydro energy etc. also hold their great presence in it. In this paper a state of art review is present with different control strategies also key integration issues of RESs within MGs also described. © 2016 IEEE.
