Title: Concurrent dual-frequency oscillator using a dual-band filter

Abstract: A novel concept of designing concurrent dual-frequency oscillator based on dual-band filter as the frequency selective feedback network is presented in this paper. A trisection stepped-impedance resonator with dual-band response is used as a frequency determining circuitry in the feedback loop of an amplifier to realize a dual-frequency oscillator. The designed oscillator generated concurrent oscillations at 2.48GHz and 5.4GHz. Phase-noise values of-114dBc/Hz and-104dBc/Hz are obtained at 1MHz offset from lower and upper frequencies, respectively. © 2016 IEEE.
