Abstract: This paper presents the design studies of a 0.5 MW, CW, 42 GHz conventional cavity gyrotron, for plasma heating application in an experimental Tokamak in India. The mode selection process followed by resonator design and RF behavior studies will be presented in this paper. © 2012 IEEE.
