Abstract: | This paper presents a design of broadband power amplifier operating in continuous class-F mode. The design space among the continuum of modes has been analyzed to overcome the limitation of anticlockwise trajectory of second harmonic impedance on smith chart, as they impose constraint on realizable matching networks. For the validation of the analysis, the experimental implementation of broadband PA is carried out on 15-W GaN HEMT device from CREE over the frequency range of 1.4 to 2.4 GHz which corresponds to fractional bandwidth of 52.6%. © 2016 IEEE. |
