Abstract: As an important representative of climate change and main disruption to environments, subsurface fire (Hotspot) is coming extended scientists and the general public consideration. Satellite images play an important role to get quick and complete information about the occurrence and development of subsurface fire. In this paper, INSAT-3D data an Indian satellite data has been utilized. Contextual algorithm is used to detect the potential hotspots and further Artificial Neural Network (ANN) classification has been used to reduce the false alarm rate (FAR) © 2015 IEEE.
