Abstract: In code division multiple access (CDMA) system in cellular mobile communication technology, every user is assigned a unique signature sequence to spread his information bearing signal over the available channel bandwidth irrespective of the information bandwidth. The signature sequence consists of a number of chips which is proportional to the symbol duration. This type of cellular transmission is known as direct-sequence CDMA (DS-CDMA). But if the same encoded data is transmitted using more than one carrier, then the received data from each subcarrier can be combined to achieve improved performance. This type of transmission is called multicarrier CDMA (MC-CDMA).
