Abstract: The combinations of shell structure give discontinuity to their load path and hence play major role in load deformation behaviour of shell structures. In this paper thin metal shells are studied for combination of shell geometries for large deformation. The study is conducted on four categories of shell structures which are the combination of simple cylinder, frusta and half sphere. The large deformation was obtained by axially compressing these geometrical shells between two flat plates. The geometrical shell behaviour to large deformation was understood with load displacement graph for different geometrical changes. The associated change in mode of deformation is presented and discussed. ¬© 2017 The Authors.
