Title: Interference effect of boundary wall on wind loads

Abstract: The wind induced pressure on the roof and wall of a building affected significantly by the obstruction of wind flow. The boundary wall is very common feature of a building in India causing obstruction in the flow of wind. This paper discusses the effect of boundary wall on pressures of roof and wall of building model. The pattern of pressure distribution on a building model of scale 1:25 in presence of a boundary wall has been studied in a Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel at Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India and reported in this paper. It has been observed that with an increase in the distance between the building and boundary wall, significant changes have been found in the magnitude of pressure coefficients on the roof and wall surface of building. The study is based on the data available on TTU building.
