Geographical isolation helped the region to maintain their identity till globalization intruded deep inside. In Naga villages, huts transcends beyond being a mere shelter. It symbolizes social status, apt adaptation to local climatic condition, innovative use of local materials and techniques, interwoven cultural customs etc within its built form. This conforms to socio - economic norm and hierarchy explicitly. One enters into a naga hut and realizes the importance of kitchen among other places in a home. Here people gather together surrounding the hearth to care and share lives with their kith and kin in true sense. These vernacular essences have been applied successfully into the tourist village. Living culture of folkdance. lore, songs are exhibited here in an interactive way and provide wider scope to appreciate. Initiatives like showcasing vernacular built-form like this is always deserve appreciation.
