dc.description.abstractPrompted by the recent measurements of Predojević, we have calculated the excitation of the 3s4s S1 0 and 3s4p P1 1 states of magnesium by electron impact at 20, 40, 60, and 100 eV in the relativistic distorted-wave approximation. Results are presented for the differential and integrated cross sections and compared with previous experimental and theoretical data. © 2008 The American Physical Society.-
