Cost reduction in absorbent kraft paper

Abstract

Various ways of cost reduction processes in absorbent kraft paper were discussed. It was found that when permanganate number was reduced during pulping, a pulp yield of 43% with a permanganate number of 10.2 was obtained. Mixed chips of pine, bamboo and eucalyptus in a ratio of 1:2.3:11, were digested at different alkali doses while keeping other variables constant. A higher value for water klemn was obtained while comparing laboratory-made handsheets with decorative laminates.
